After years of writing short stories and chatting about all things writing on my previous blogs, I’ve decided it’s time for something new. The AI Grandad is my next adventure, part curiosity project, part personal journal, and part experiment in discovering how artificial intelligence is reshaping creativity, communication, and everyday life.
I’m not a tech guru. I’m a retired headteacher, a writer, and a grandad who’s spent the last few years exploring what AI can do, from helping craft stories and podcasts to designing book covers and learning tools. Somewhere along the way, I realised that AI isn’t something to be feared or dismissed; it’s something to be understood, questioned, and, yes, enjoyed.
So this blog is about that journey. It’s about what happens when a 75-year-old decides to dive head-first into the world of algorithms, prompts, and digital imagination. It’s about creativity, curiosity, and keeping your brain alive and kicking in a fast-changing world.
You’ll still find traces of my earlier blogs here, the storytelling, the humour, the occasional dark twist, but now alongside reflections on AI, creativity, education, and life itself.
